Reggae Gems from The Hague Reggae All Stars

Solid, energetic, steaming, Reggae Corner Stones from “The Hague Reggae All Stars” with love from the city of Peace, Justice and Reggae, The Hague!

Drummer STiX is the founder of this collective of Reggae heavyweights. After experiencing a performance of Bob Marley & The Wailers in the Houtrusthallen in The Hague, on his 16th birthday, 13 may 1977, drummer STiX knew what he wanted in life: To play Reggae music! He began as a Reggae DJ on an illegal radio station. Then STiX started drumming in The Knoflocks, soon he was invited by the charismatic singer King Size, to join his band King Size and The Walkman.

In the 80’s The Walkman have even performed with Reggae legend “Desmond Dekker” as his backing band called “The Walkman”. Desmond Dekker is known as one of the discoverers of Bob Marley and had the first world wide reggae hit with his song Israelites. The Walkman had lots of success in the club circuit and flamed at many important festivals and legendary venues. The Walkman also appeared regularly on radio and TV.

The Hague Reggae All Stars is a collective of renowned musicians who have earned their spurs. Today The Hague Reggae All Stars present a tribute project called “Reggae Corner Stones”, featuring Reggae gems which are important in the development of Reggae, gems of heroes and legends like Bob Marley, Burning Spear, The Abyssinians, Max Romeo, Yellowman, John Holt, Keith and Tex, Justin Hinds, Sly & Robbie and many others.
